Common Power Project by Greenpeace

alt

COMMON POWER IS A GREENPEACE PROJECT THAT AIMS TO ACCELERATE THE GLOBAL RENEWABLE ENERGY TRANSITION.

This project’s goal is shifting power away from the corporate, centralised fossil fuel economy and put it in the hands of local communities.

We want to do this in a way that’s fair, just and inclusive.

How is Common Power accelerating the global transition to a renewable energy future?

DEVELOPING A NEW SYSTEM

Establishing a plan for a new global system and operational structure that addresses inequality and is built on justice and equity.

PROVIDING CONSUMER CONTROL

Giving the individual consumer the capability to change.

BUILDING COMMUNITY OWNERSHIP

Providing more local opportunity, representation, access and inclusion to the citizens and communities that need it most.

IMAGINING A HEALTHIER FUTURE

Transitioning away from fossil fuels will enable healthier lives and a healthier planet.

TAKING ACTION TODAY

A better informed and supported society will more readily buy-in. But it’s not enough to understand it in theory – most importantly, they will take action to change.

We believe that access to clean, renewable energy is a basic human right, because profits aren’t more important than the planet, or our health.

Let local communities govern the energy they produce and use!
